What is the Walkathon?    

 

A school-wide fundraiser where students will get pledges and walk laps on a marked course to raise money for St. Catherine of Siena School.  This fun day promotes a healthy, active lifestyle for our students, while we raise much needed funds to support special projects and activities. If each student raised $100, we will reach our goal! 

 

 

How can I reach my goal?

In class writing project! Bring in 10 names of friends or family you would like to ask for help. The form letter will be prepared in class and mailed to your contacts directing them to our online giving page!

Ask for donations. Use your pledge form and with your parents permission, ask local friends and family for donations.

Business Sponsorships. Get local businesses or ask friends and family who own businesses to sponsor you.

 

100% of the donations will benefit St. Catherine students and since St. Catherine of Siena School is a non-profit, all donations are tax deductible for your sponsors.

What if I can't reach my goal?

Just do what you can! Everyone will participate regardless of goal attainment.

What will we do with the $ we raise?

The moneys raised will go towards our school and will be decided by the student body along with the administration where to best use the funds. Some ideas are: adding Buddy Benches and new pieces to our outside playground, purchasing manipulative/resources for indoor activities, getting a shed for outdoor gym/recess equipment and games. Your tax-deductible gift will help make a difference in the lives of current students like me and for those in years to come. These things are all possible with your participation and support.

Where do we walk?

5th -8th grade loops around the school and parish grounds along the Shelton Road sidewalk behind the Nichols Firehouse to the backyard path of St. Catherine! Walkers stay together with their class.

Pre-k-4th grade - stays on school and parish grounds.

All students always accompanied by teachers and VIRTUS trained volunteers.
