Principal: Michelle Powrie
My name is Michelle Powrie, and it is truly an honor to be appointed Principal of Saint Catherine of Sienna School. I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of this welcoming and vibrant school community. I am committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where students can grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally. I have been so impressed by our faculty and staff, who share my commitment to fostering a love for learning while instilling strong values rooted in our Catholic faith.
I hold a masters in Educational Leadership from Saint Thomas Aquinas and a master's in Early Childhood from Fordham. I have spent the past 25 years at all levels of education, from classroom teacher to Principal. I am passionate about Catholic education and feel there is no better environment for a child than to attend a school where they are guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ, and our faith is at the core of everything that is done. I understand the full circle of Catholic education as a leader and also as the parent of twins who have attended Catholic school since they were in Kindergarten!
Before arriving at Saint Catherine’s, I was most recently the Principal at Our Lady of Mercy Academy in Park Ridge, New Jersey, and before that, I spent seven years leading Saint Paul’s School in Valley Cottage, New York. I am excited to bring my experience with me and lead this dynamic and loving school into the future. Open lines of communication and working together with faculty, staff, and parents are the hallmarks of my success. The children entrusted into our care each day are my highest priority, and I will be working hard to ensure that they know that God is beside them each step of the way as they learn and grow within our school.
Peace be with you,
