Students grow in their faith daily. Our teachers infuse the ten core Gospel Values in all areas to go above and beyond daily prayer. As followers of Jesus, we strive daily to emulate His love, kindness, and compassion through our thoughts, words, and actions. The student body attends masses on First Friday and Holy Days. Classes take turns participating in the preparation of the Mass each month. Students have many opportunities to participate in and attend prayer services throughout the year. We are confident in our students' ability to conquer many of the moral challenges encountered along the journey to adulthood.

 

As a Catholic school, we are here to educate the whole child; mind, body, and spirit. Our well-rounded preschool program includes Spanish, technology, music, art, and physical fitness. Classes In addition to our rigorous academics, our school prides itself on offering a wide variety of extracurricular activities, including athletics, instrumental music, student council, and many other clubs, to help develop leadership skills both in and out of the classroom. Through commitment and discipline, our students become confident, compassionate leaders.

 

We are proud to say that our students are accepted into local competitive college preparatory high school programs. These programs include Fairfield College Preparatory School, Our Lady of Mercy Lauralton Hall, St. Joseph High School, Sacred Heart Academy, Notre Dame-Fairfield, Notre Dame-West Haven, Hopkins School, Trumbull Regional Agricultural and Biotechnology, and more. We are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and were named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. 

 

SCSS is purposefully a small school, fostering close personal connections within the community. The students, faculty, and families partner in the development of the student.

 

The faculty is intentional in how they work with children to build a sense of community. Our talented teachers work tirelessly to inspire a lifelong love of learning. They work collaboratively to meet the needs of all students and prepare them for high school and beyond.

 

Parents play a vital role in the community at SCSS. Teachers and parents partner in the education of the student. Working at home to reinforce the principles learned during the day is critical to learning. Our parent volunteers are involved, supportive, and actively participate in many activities during the school day and beyond. Several current parents are alumni of the school, genuinely making the community a unique family. The hard work and support of many families and staff members over the years have developed and sustained the vibrant school SCSS is today.
