Our SCSS Middle School students had the opportunity last school year to learn how to compose music. During the course of the academic year they composed several pieces of music. Below are examples of musical compositions created to honor our Civil War Veterans(Grade 8), Revolutionary War Veterans(Grade 7) and Compositions representing Ancient Egypt and the time of the Exodus(Grade 6). They also learned to compose their own musical movie scores to scenes they selected from the Star Wars catalogue. The links are listed below. My name is Bob Sirois and I am the Music/Band Instructor here at Saint Catherine of Siena School. I have had the pleasure of teaching here at SCSS for 7 years. My goal is and has always been to positively influence each and every student here at SCSS through their exposure to the infinite possibilities that music and the arts have to offer. I truly love music and my role as the Music/Band Instructor here at SCSS and look forward to a fun, inspirational upcoming school year.
It's gonna be a great upcoming school year for SCSS Music. Our first day for Music Class will be Tuesday September 5th. This school year our students will be learning about music through the ages. They will learn to hear and identify different instruments within varying orchestrations of musical delivery. Rhythm, tempo and it's purpose in music and life will become a staple. They will become producers and composers who will learn and eventually create their own rhythms, ultimately composing a musical piece. They will experience many diverse styles of music this school year and best of all, we will have fun! I am very much looking forward to seeing and teaching each and every SCSS student. I miss them all and I am excited to be in person again at SCSS. God Bless!
