Hello SCSS Kindergarten Families,
My name is Christina Buck and I am the Kindergarten teacher at St. Catherine of Siena School. I am excited to be a part of your children's first year of Elementary School! I truly look forward to seeing each child grow and learn throughout the school year. Nothing is more fulfilling than seeing a child progress in lifelong skills such as reading, writing, and arithmetic. I come from a varied background to St. Catherine's. I completed my undergraduate and graduate studies at Trident University in Cypress, CA. I found that my passion was in teaching while completing my Master of Arts in Early Elementary Education, and I developed my graduate thesis on movement in the classroom. I use key findings from my studies to keep the kindergarteners active and excited to learn. My family and I have lived in many different places over the past several years. My husband is an officer in the United States Coast Guard, and is stationed in New Haven, CT. Due to his career we have lived in Louisiana, Maryland, New York, and Connecticut. We moved here in 2020 and have fell in love with the area and Trumbull, CT. We have five wonderful children, Taylor (17), Dominick (15), Christopher (14), Alexis (12), and James (9). They keep us busy! I really enjoy spending time with family and friends, and going on our annual vacations (we went to Rocking Horse Ranch and Sunny Hill for our summer vacations this year). I look forward to spending each day with your kindergarteners, and I am happy to be a part of the St. Catherine of Siena School family! See you in class (or at pick up)!
God Bless,
Christina Buck
