Community Service

Saint Catherine of Siena students are actively involved in many service projects. Supporting the needs of our community is essential, and students regularly participate in events such as our Parish Outreach Program such as the back to school drive, Thanksgiving food drive, and the Christmas Giving Tree any other local events,

A holiday tradition for SCSS for over 25 years is to donate decorates themed Christmas trees which line the hallways at the New Haven Maritime Center. These trees help raise money for The Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut for their Trees of Hope Auction. The array of trees is breathtaking! It is a tradition that our students take pride in doing.

Our SCSS Cares Service Team has participated in various service projects. The children have made blankets for the Binky Patrol who supplies these blankets to infants and children in area hospitals. They have also made dog and cat toys for various animal shelters and have served meals at the Spooner House in Shelton.

The students raise money for various local charities such as breast cancer awareness, Wreaths Across America, Autism Awareness, American Heart Association, and local food pantries through casual dress days.

Living their faith through service to others is vital to SCSS students, and they willingly share their gifts and talents.
