Tuition Assistance

Bishop's Scholarship Fund

The mission of the Bishop's Scholarship Fund is to help families afford a Catholic Education. This past year, the BSF awarded over $2,850,000  million in aid to families at the Diocesan elementary schools in Fairfield County.

All families who have a child(ren) registered or are new applicants in a Diocesan-sponsored Catholic elementary school in Fairfield County (Grades K - 8) and are in financial need of tuition assistance are encouraged to apply through FACTS online.

Applications are evaluated, and determinations are made by the Bishop's Scholarship Fund Committee, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, or gender. Awardees' families are notified through FACTS, and scholarship distributions are made directly to the school on behalf of the successful scholarship applicant.

2025-2026 Bishop's Scholarship Fund (BSF)

BSF Application Opens 2/1/25! – Key Reminders:

  • Families apply online via FACTS Grant & Aid, complete all questions regarding BSF, submit supporting tax documentation and a $35 ($5 increase) FACTS processing fee.
  • The application requires the entire 2023 or 2024 IRS Federal tax returns along with 2024 W2s. If applicants do not receive W-2s, then they must submit a 2024 tax return.
  • Deadline to apply - March 15 for current families; April 15 for new families
  • Award notifications – early May for current families; late May for new families
  • Sibling Consideration Awards are being eliminated given the discounts individual schools provide families. In the past, if a family with multiple children did not qualify for need-based tuition assistance, they could qualify for a $300 BSF award for older K-8 sibling(s). Sibling awards are no longer available.
