St. Catherine of Siena School Trumbull, CT

Last year's eighth grade students, with the guidance of their religion teacher Ms. Giaquinto, engaged in a process to select a quoation from Scripture which would become their legacy to the St. Catherine of Siena School community for the 2011-2012 school year. Starting with a request that each member of the class submit his or her choice from the Bible, the class discussed and considered all 24 student submissions. These discussions resulted in reducing the choices to only four. Each student was then asked to cast his/her vote by writing an essay about the quote they each thought to best guide the St. Catherine community for the coming year. The Class of 2011 chose the following quotation to leave as their legacy:

Our morning prayer will close with this quotation and it will be used to guide us throughout the year. I applaud the wisdom of our graduates and appreciate their heartfelt essays about both the Bible and living a life of faith.
